The Grandfather
This surrealistic short film that was made before ‘Der Bunker’ is about life and death and defines director Chrysoss’ tone of directing. The story is about a boy visiting his dying grandfather Werner, an avid collector of everything that once walked, crawled, swam or flew but is now dead hanging on the wall. The old man insists that they drink a psychedelic Indian potion together, have a tussle, discuss women and retrieve memories. They communicate as strangers and as the two generations are miles apart, the mansion serves as a symbolic farewell. The Grandfather is full of witty details and made up of images that you would normally only encounter in nightmares. Edit
