Zero programme #incu16

After the success of the previous Incubate Zero programmes, we're proud to host another free offering of artists. Every day of the festival there will be a wide range of music, theater and arts, all FREELY accessible. So make sure to bring your friends and family and check out these acts!

During the four days of the festival, from September 8 until September 11, eight acts will perform in various pubs and hangouts in the city of Tilburg. These are the acts that will play the Zero programme:

Their music has PMS, a despairing and blood boiling post-punk rock. Songs like teenage abortions and Kafkaesque fever dreams, these kids will leave you red eyed deep into the night obsessed with knife porn.

Friday, September 9, 18:00 - 19:00, Sounds

A trio that was founded in the former DDR and named after a Polish sound enigneer. They crushed his eardrums with their noisy garage rock, and are about to crush yours.

Friday, September 9, 17:00 - 18:00, Diggers

Cusack is an indie-post-punk trio from Rotterdam. Inspired by the 90s, bees, the internet, and bands like Shellac, Stiltskin and Savages. Sometimes warm, sometimes furious, sometimes sleazy.

Saturday, September 10, 14:00 - 15:00, Sounds

Seymour Sachs

Seymour Sachs is a three headed fuzz making monster based in Sittard. In songs with unconventional structures they sing about the suffering of all possible losers and anti-heroes.

Saturday, September 10, 15:00 - 16:00, Diggers

The Mighty Breaks
Four buddies from Voorschoten armed with fuzzy west coast garagerock songs. Sounds like a more chilled out Ty Segall from the 70's.

Saturday, September 10, 16:00 - 17:00, De Spaarbank

New band from Groningen with a beautiful dreamy krautpop sound. Prepare to fall in love with this northern four-piece.

Sunday, September 11, 13:00 - 14:00, Diggers

Donkey Kung Fu
New promising trio from Amsterdam. Expect some fine energetic noisy garagepunk, they don't hate fuzz pedals.

Sunday, September 11, 14:00 - 15:00, Sounds

Solo project of Benjamin van Vliet. A singer-songwriter who operates between (kraut)folk and sound art.

Sunday, September 11, 15:00 - 16:00, De Spaarbank

Unfortunately Couleur Café had to cancel their show.

'Iconostase 180' - Yona Friedman

German dub and field recording gone techno originator Sleeparchive will kick off a special headphones only / silent disco project of four days, taking place inside a giant steel sculpture on Thursday September 8. A day later, Swedish king of Nordic deep techno Acronym will take the stage and on Saturday Sep 10, two of the most interesting electronica artists of the last couple of years will play: Healing Force Project from Italy and Tapes from the UK. Finally, UK techno innovator Mosca has been added for Sunday Sept 11th and Rotterdam’s modular synth lord Mono-Poly will conclude this very special program.

These DJ sets will all take place in the Iconostase sculpture designed by Yona Friedman. While the DJ's are busy turning their tables, light artist Marco Broeders will impress us with special lighting and effects for the sculpture.

The first chapter of the Mein Liebling project is a duet for and with T.r.a.s.h. dancers Lucie Petrusová en Eleni Ploumi. Different stereotypes of beauty pass the stage with a high physical energy. Jens Standke

'A Tape Runs On In Silence’ - Jens Standke

The exposition 'A Tape Runs On In Silence' is composed of images and sounds. The sounds are translations of materials, like dust particles, collected on duct tape. The materials for the sounds are collected from the residents in Tilburg by Jens Standke himself.

Saturday, September 10, 13:00 - 17:00, Sea Foundation

Martijn Hendriks

'Spoon' - Martijn Hendriks

Dutch artist Martijn Hendriks has been staging interventions throughout Tilburg since May. You might remember his exhibition ‘Sculpture Falls in a Forest’ at our May festival, in the basement of theatre De NWE Vorst. Hendriks has been placing a growing number of sculptures at public locations in Tilburg: parks and forest areas but also fountains supermarket freezers. During Incubate his sculpture ‘Spoon’ will be placed in a rental Volvo parked in a parking garage at Pieter Vreedeplein, in the city centre of Tilburg. The cars license plate and exact location will be revealed on Friday 9th on this page and on our Incubate Art Facebook-page. Makes art feel like an old fashioned treasure hunt, doesn’t it?

Friday, September 9 - Friday, September, 16, 07:00 - 04:30, Parking garage Pieter Vreedeplein

Record / CD / Music Market

Sunday, September 11, 13:00 - 17:00, Koningsplein
