Andy Stott (live)
Andy Stott's previous full-length Passed Me By (released by Manchester label Modern Love) was a dark yet surprisingly slow-paced techno record. “Anything above 110 bpm just sounded a bit Mickey Mouse, a bit fast, a bit daft. So I just slowed it down”, he explains. The result speaks for itself: fuse the dark ambient sounds of Burial with the hypnotizing music of The Field and you end up with one of the best techno albums of last year.
