There are different ways to obtain credits. You'll earn credits if you do the following:

Website

  • Edit a biography
  • Add a tag to an artist

  • Add a video to an artist, venue or project
  • Add a photo to an artist, venue or project
  • Recommend an artist or project to a friend

  • Add an artist or project to your agenda

Twitter:

More possibilites will be added in the future.

Awesome I've collected some credits. How can I get my reward?

How many Credits do my friends have?

You can see the Credits-ranking on this page. Please bear in mind that the number of Credits someone has, will only be updated when that person is logged in.

Can I keep my credits to spend them after the festival?

Yes. Also after Incubate 2011, you can both collect and spend your Credits. We want to keep this up througout the full year. But keep in mind products in the webshop are limited, so might be sold out ate the time you've got enough Credits. The quicker you collect Credits, the better!

We'll add new products to the webshop every few weeks.

Do you send the item I ordered in the Webshop by mail for free?

You can pick up your Credits-order for free at the Incubate HQ in TIlburg on businessdays or during the festival at the Ticket & Info Center. But we can also send the item per mail.

Do you post freaky stuff on my Facebook wall or Twitter profile when I connect my account for Credits?

NO we will never do that. We only track your posts on Twitter/Facebook to see if you do something that's worth Credits. We will not post anything on your profile on your behalf. Never.

Why should I start collecting Credits?

Obviously, because you can redeem them for great exclusive shirts, posters, vinyl and more! But most importantly: You help us in making the festival even better.

I've cheated by just editing some weird stuff on incubate.org and ordered a product. Will I get my merch anyway?

Don't think so. We love to reward you for the things you do on Incubate.org

We will check every order on the way how the credits are earned. So if you just add a few spaces, weird characters or total bull-shit to a biography, or add or embed weird photos, videos or tags, we'll let you know your order will not be processed until you've earned those credits in a honest way.

Other

I don’t like the left/rightwing politic views, or the sexual act of an artist. Why did you invite them?

We try to show you art (be it music, film, theatre, visual or otherwise) that originates in underground scenes and (sub)cultures. The artist’s ways of dealing with life and art might not be your preferred choice.
The ideas, meanings and intentions of artists participating in the festival are not necessarily our own. We feel it’s important to highlight different aspects of cutting edge art, even though the imagery displayed or styles shown might offend others. Please be aware of that risk within the artistic choices we make as a festival.

Like our teachers told us: contradictions like positivism and negativism, sperm and blood have always been central themes in art; from The Old Testament till Dante's Inferno, from Monteverdi till Motörhead and from Jesus till GG Allin.
Parody, irony, pastiche, deconstruction, the anti-aesthetic are some of the techniques. (Anti)utopism and the quest for pure honesty and pure evil are some of the themes. The response may say as much about the recipient's mind as it says about the sender. Of course we do have our limits though.

This means not everything is possible at the festival. If we, or the majority of the audience, could be offended by symbols, appearance or behavior, we have the right to ban you from our festival. But of course you and us don't want to let it come that far, we all come to the festival to have a good time in the first place!

When will you release the timeschedule?

Usually around the end of August. It takes a lot of effort to get the whole lineup together in the first place and after that it's puzzeling time! It takes ages to get the timeschedule together and we try to please everyone, but that's impossible. With so many artists, please just keep in mind this is a luxury problem :-)

I'm important enough to get in for free. But how?

Incubate promotes independent culture. Not only the participating artists but also the fanzines, blogs, magazines, newspapers, radio stations etc.. are responsible for the vibrant scene. If you think you can contribute in any of these days and want to come over, for accreditations you can go to the press site.

If you're an important industry person: research costs (also the booze) are tax deductable. Just ask your accountant!

I'm a photographer, can I just bring my camera with me?

We don't have a strict policy for professional camera's, but some artists do. Please contact Jelle Agema (jelle AT incubate DOT) to make sure. Keep in mind not to disturb other visitors' festival while making photo's!

Open source expo's

For the first time we introduce to you the Incubate open source expo's! Whether you're into art, film or dance, there's possibly a spot for you on the festival line-up. Check out the events page for different expo options at the festival and deadlines for handing in your work. We'd love to see your contributions for the festival!

Volunteer at Incubate

Incubate has a dedicated team of 100+ volunteers working alongside staff members on many aspects of our programs and operations.

How you can help;

You want to host artists in your home?
Help us with publicity like distributing posters or flyer at concerts and shows?
Help us with production?
Usher at exhibitions?
Drive artists around?
Maybe you have other ideas how you can help us, because there's a lot to do.

Of course volunteers get festival tickets, a festival shirt, food and drinks and a cool volunteer party in exchange for their work.

We try to include everyone interested in bringing cutting edge culture. Strengthening and extending this group of like-mindend individuals is one of our main goals. It offers you an inspiring connnection to mind broadening experiences. You help independent artist to promote their stuff. You bring cool art to Dutch province.

Interested? Please e-mail steph ATT incubate DOTT org for all info!

Sponsoring / Donations

By supporting Incubate, its artists and, in turn, our vibrant community at large, you are helping independent culture. Both nationally and internationally. Most importantly, your organization’s involvement places it squarely in the center of these crossroads of upcoming artists, independent thinkers and pioneering communication strategies.

It is a thrilling place to be and a festival this cool can’t happen without your commitment. Beware, because we are keen on our identity! We don't believe in a banner spangled festival but we want to share knowledge and incorporate your brand in our communitty. That's why we are are looking for daring views and we can offer you those daring views of the cool and underground community that's normally hard to reach.

By supporting Incubate you contribute to the international independent arts scene. Next to that you contribute to the general profile of Tilburg as a rapidly developing city, open for new visitors an new ideas.

Incubate is a non profit organization and all donations are fully tax-deductible.

If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities or donating money please contact Joost Heijthuijsen – joost ATT incubate DOTT org

Can i recommend any artists for Incubate?

Sure thing! Head over to our Get Satisfaction page where you can recommendate whatever you want for Incubate 2011! Our bookers will take a look at every single recommendation and perhaps you'll see your favorite artist at the festival (or perhaps in the coming years).

Festival site

Where can I my pink sunhat? (aka Merchandise!)

At Pinkpop! We do have some merchandise for sale online here but you can also buy your t-shirts and goodies at the Incubate Ticket & Info Center.

Band merchandise will be sold in the venues where the bands play. Want to take a break from the live music and looking for a good record store in town? Check out Sounds for your vinyl, cd's and second hand records.

My ears are bleeding, now what?

We won't let it come that far, but there's a resonable chance some performances will be loud to make them more intense. Therefore we always recommend to bring earplugs, but if you forgot them or think this will take too much space in your suitcase, you can buy them at any venue you like. If you can't find this, ask someone from the staff who will be glad to help you out.

How much is the beer at the festival?

This is variable as we work with different venue's, but the price ranges from 2,00 to 2,30 for 0,25cl (ask for Dab at Buitenbeentje and you can get even cheaper beer!). You can pay with cash, but only at 013 you'll have to buy coins. Calculate the amount of coins well because they can't refund your money! But of course if you have spare coins, you can either donate them to the Incubate crew or keep them for next year.

You can't bring any of your own beer to the venues, but if you're short on cash you can always go to the supermarket to buy some beers and drink them elsewhere. Beware for authorities though!

So Incubate takes place in about 30 venues? Where can I buy mountain hiking boots?

You won't have to as every venue is located within a perimter of about 10 minutes! The Tilburg city centre is quite compact. For long trips to places like Natuurtheater we will arrange busses. Keep an eye out on the website or the festival guide for bus times.

How do I get to the festival?

You can find all the travel information over here!

Dude, where can I park my car?

Next to 013, one of out main venues, there's a parking lot called Tivoli. Or you can follow the blue parking signs in the city itself.

Drukqs

Is a record by Aphex Twin, but also a substance. Soft drugs in the Netherlands are legal, but hard drugs are forbidden of course. If you choose to get stoned out of your mind, please do so in the smoking area or outside. Same goes for regular smoking of course.

What else is there to do during the Incubate festival?

If you can't seem to fill your program with just music, art, dance, debate, film and much more, which is almost impossible, you can always visit the tourist office (situated in our ticket office) for info on Tilburg's tourist clichés! If you like to stay longer, some recommendations are De Efteling (the largest theme park in The Netherlands), De Pont (great contemporary art museum) the beautiful city of Den Bosch (where Jheronimus Bosch came from, or to rent a bike and to check out the beautiful surroundings.

Tickets

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be bought on our website or at Free Record Shop, Sounds and 013 Ticketbox. Ticket prices are the same, but the service fee is usually different. Check out the ticket page for the different service fee of each point of sale.

There's an early bird discount for passe partouts which will last until May 31st. So grab your cheap tickets while stocks last!

At the festival itself you can buy your tickets at the Incubate Ticket & Info Center which you can find directions for here. Of course pre sales are cheaper!

What kind of tickets are for sale?

We roughly have four different ticket categories; Incubate premium, passe partout, week-dayticket (mon, tue, wed, thur) and weekend-dayticket (fri, sat, sun). You can find the full description of each ticket here. Tickets for the conference and heavy metal bowling will be added later on and are NOT included in the regular tickets!

I have bought a ticket for the Thursday, can I go to the heavy metal bowling now?

Nope! You will have to buy an additional Heavy Metal Bowling ticket which will be added later on. Same with the conference on friday. Only going to heavy metal bowling or the conference and not the festival itself? Shame! But you won't need an additional day ticket to attend either of these.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

No sorry, you'll have to go to the Incubate Ticket & Info Center to buy a ticket before you can attend any event at Incubate! But the ticket center isn't far from any of the venues. Looking for directions? Check here!

Do you work with wristbands and where can I find them?

We certainly do! You'll have to exchange your ticket for a wristband at the Incubate Ticket and Info Center before attending anything!

Are there Terms & Conditions on buying tickets?

Yes, you can find the Terms and Conditions on the ticket page but because you took the effort to look at the FAQ before sending us an email with your question, we'll reward you with a direct link!

What's the deal with the camping tickets?

We have two types of camping tickets for sale; one for friday and saturday night and one for friday, saturday and sunday night. You can buy them at our ticket page. You can check in between 13:00 and 18:00 and have to check out before 12:00. We only have camping space throughout the weekend, during the week (monday until thursday) you'll have to look for another place to crash but don't worry, there are many other options over here!
