Don’t get fooled by this two man (or man and a woman actually) band, Dark Castle hold one’s own with the other bands in the genre. Female fronted sludge with guts is the least you can expect, as Dark Castle certainly takes things a bit deeper. Their hallucinogenic music draws you into a psychedelic trip of plodding riffs, deep grunts and shrieks and a pounding slow rhythm section. With a post-metal Neurosis-like vibe on top, the term ‘Gloom Metal’ suits them very well.
