Kayo Dot is an experimental rock/modern composition ensemble. They fuse folk and jazz in an avantgarde way on their last album coming from a experimental metal background (as 'maudlin of the Well'). KD keep on inventing their music in new ways, without keeping a close eye on what everyone expects them to do. This attitude is admired by many, and rejected by others, according to the mixed reviews on their last album. This constant search for new things is exactly why they belong on Incubate 2009.
