Incubate is the annual celebration of independent culture. Expect a diverse view on indie culture as a whole, including music, contemporary dance, film and visual arts. We bring more than 200 cutting edge artists in an intimate context to an international audience. Black metal next to free jazz. Street art next to academic dance.

NEW JACKS is project initiated by INCUBATE, together with artist collective WEI from Eindhoven, artist studio complex TAC in Eindhoven and the AVANS art academies in Den Bosch and Breda. Its aim is to present the most interesting artists that have graduated from one of the Brabant Province Art Academies in the last five years. These artists are selected according to the Incubate artistic criteria and the shortlist was put together by the partners. For Incubate it’s important that these young artists have a place to present their work and show what they can do, outside the regular art circuit. This will help them to make new connections with other (international) artists and hopefully help put them on a path towards their own individual career in visual arts. For this first edition we’ve asked the artists to take a good look at the work of Incubates main guest HERMANN NITSCH and the Viennese Aktionists from the 1960’s and examine the theme’s used in their work.
