• 

(1952) studied philosolphy in Leiden and Rotterdam with minors in linguistics and Japanese. he stayed in Japan a while to learn the art of Japanese swordfighting. Since 1985 Henk is the main teacher at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He's also the secretary of the Dutch-Flemish Union for Interculteral Philosophy, coördinator of the Centre for Philosphy and Arts and the chairman of the Dutch Aesthetics Federation.
