personality

My Personality Hates Me! begins with the face and the body’s hidden qualities and potentials. In a purely technical sense, the video comprises a reproduction of a Webcam image of Didi Bruckmayr’s face on mathematically defined curves or surfaces (NURBS), computer-generated 3D shapes in realtime, and an extensively altered song by the band Fuckhead. The affect this produces is described by the title: There is in fact intense tension between the merely momentary expression of a person (the face) and the sum of qualities and potentials that are smoothed out during individual development into a personality.

The short movie is part of the Taking No Shorts program. See the link below for more information.
