Altar of Plagues shift between unrelenting two chord black metal buzzsaw riffs, colossal melodies, lengthy atmospheric parts that build up tension and murky electronic soundscapes. Imagine a combination of Secrets of the Moon, Neurosis and Primordial. In 2008 they signed to Profound Lore Records and supported black metal legends Mayhem on their European tour. Terrorizer magazine about their debut: "one of the most promising debuts since Wolves in the Throne Room's 'Diadem of 12 stars'".
