Renee van trier selfportrait

Renée Van Trier’s work is created from planned moments and / or coincidental moments that she didn’t plan herself. She works from direct reactions which she shaped. These shapes are diverse: performances, body movements, videos, photographs, installations, and soundscapes. The human body is an important subject in the works and she plays with the time span, rhythm, and repetition. Van Trier received her BFA from St. Joost Academy of Fine Arts, Breda, The Netherlands in 2008 and is currently working towards her MFA at the Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2009 Van Trier did a residency program at the MFA Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California.
