Wouter Jaspers & Karlijn de Groot - Scherven

Soundartist Wouter Jaspers (also known as Franz Fjödor) will present a performance that balances upon the borders of music, dance and theatre. In his piece called ‘Scherven’, Jaspers, together with actress Karlijn de Groot, will try to explore the essence of these art forms,  by surrendering themselves completely. Even the length of the piece isn’t fixed, the show is over when they both feel its over. Noise- and experimental music are heading more and more towards performance art, where the theatralicity has to be found in extremes. Men in dark suits attacking the audience, people covering themselves in feces and a guy from Australia who smashes a piece of glass on his own head. The dramaturgical side doesn’t get the attention it deserves. In this piece music, text and performance are equal; the music is made live and has a huge direct influence on the play. For Jaspers and De Groot this also means they have improvise a lot on the spot (with the written play in the back of their heads).
