Many visual artists have made posters for rockconcerts or designs for record sleeves. The sleeves and posters become worth a lot more when H.r. Giger, Joost Swarte or Andy Warhol design them. Grinning grey fifty-somethings buy limited editions of posters or record sleeves by bands from their youth. The prices skyrocket and on eBay and through special novelty shops the stuff gets sold for ridiculous amounts. Although the physical worth of the paper or cardboard is low, the designer adds incredible value to it.
We’ve asked designers in the field of visual arts and (pop)culture to design a poster for their favorite ZXZW band or bandname. These prints are limited to 50 and they wont get saved for prosperity, they will be put where they belong, on the walls outside in the city. There is one place however where you can see all posters from the project in their natural environment, and that is record shop Sounds.

Participating artists are:
- Lee Renaldo (USA - Guitarist and intellectual of Sonic Youth, record producer)
- Rik van Iersel (NL – impro-artist and visual drummer, had been true en underground for over 20 years)
- Rob Middleton (UK - Illustrator and designer, known for heavy splatter artwork on sleeves by bands like Napalm Death, Gorefest and Disfear.)
- Mara Piccione (NL/IT - Illustrator and designer, highly original view on poster design)
- Zeloot (NL – Artist and designer, combination between naitivity and realism)
- Tom Gauld (UK - Artist who’s work is seen in Tate Modern. Also releases small comics and is an illustrator for the Guardian)
- Lea Cummings (UK – Performance artist and noise musician – as Kylie Minoise – designer of record, tape and dvd sleeves)
Konx-om-pax (UK- Grahic Design and sound design. You will know him from the "yougotmeup" video clip for Jamie Lidell)
